THE BEGINNING.
In 2017, our Creative Director Megha was living in Rajasthan, India. She was disappointed that there were limited options for versatile, breathable, culturally appropriate yet fashionable clothing.
After speaking with nomad friends around the world, she realized many were having the same struggles–sweaty synthetic fabrics, poor quality, unethical manufacturing, and unimaginative designs. Seeing that there was a gap in the market, she began developing a resort wear collection.
THE MIDDLE.
She created the name Chai Atelier, meaning tea in Sanskrit.
A symbol of hospitality and exchange of culture, tradition, and community.
She sought out the India’s best sustainable artisans and makers to create a collection of trendy, forward-thinking and ethically manufactured products.

Chai Atelier’s Indian Wanderlust Collection was born. Inspired by the deserts of Rajasthan, the bustling cosmopolitan city of Bombay and enchanting Himalayan foothills, this ethically made capsule collection became an instant head-turner.
